The History of Broadcast Products, Inc. Broadcast Products, Inc. began in 1987 with its first product, the Super Roving Radio. We then developed a second product called Talkman Radio. Each of these products was designed to represent the medium of radio in a larger-than-life manner. Both the Super Roving Radio and Talkman Radio were patterned after contemporary consumer electronic products. Our goal was to provide the radio industry with two products that would capture the attention of the listening public, and consequently, generate tremendous traffic for radio station events. At that same time, Steffen Marketing developed the Remote Booth. In 1989, we merged with Steffen Marketing. This marked our first foray into the portable display business. Within six months of merging with Steffen Marketing, we introduced a second portable display product, ProSet. Both the Remote Booth and ProSet have proven to be professional sets from which radio stations may operate while out in public. During this time, our customers began to tell us of their interest in our providing a self-contained motorized vehicle. In 1990 we developed the StarCruiser, a totally customized vehicle. Slightly larger than the traditional station van, the StarCruiser was a great replacement for the station van, while offering substantially more interior space. In 1992, we began to market a larger motorized vehicle called the Clarion. This recreational vehicle was best suited for the radio stations looking for something larger than the station van. The manufacturers of both vehicles ceased production by 1994. Having learned from our experience with customized vehicles and their manufacturers, we incorporated the Ford van into a promotional vehicle design that became the Thunder Truck. Shortly thereafter we augmented our portable display line with the introduction of the QuickSet portable display. We now also have the Remote Booth, which may be used in or out of doors and the ProSet portable display, which is intended to be used indoors. The prevalent philosophy of Broadcast Products, Inc. has been "to develop products that make radio stations look as good as they sound." We have also had the opportunity to build displays and promotional vehicles for television stations, a gourmet coffee company, a credit card company, a beer distributor, and a beer brewery. In each case our goal has been to design and construct a quality product that will attract the attention of consumers. Over the last 13 years, we have accomplished this goal for the nearly 300 radio stations that have investing in our portable displays and promotional vehicles. |
